Speed Bump

The Fleshlight Speed Bump is among our favorites here at MyMaleSexuality.com — and for good reason. This product provides a level of sensation enhancement which is, while more aggressive than its cousins in the product line, completely unique and extremely satisfying.

When we first reviewed the Fleshlight family of products, the Fleshlight Super Ribbed came out on top; and while we still think the Super Ribbed is an outstanding toy, we now consider the Speed Bump model to be the next step up on the ladder.

Let's start off by saying that if you aren't familiar with the other Fleshlights, we'd recommend you try another model first. The Original, Wonder Wave or Super Ribbed would be the one's (in that order of progression) we'd steer you to as a first toy. Why? Well, if you aren't used to the sensations produced by the Fleshlight, you'll be surprising yourself with how fast you reach orgasm and as a result, you won't have built up the necessary sexual tension in advance for the orgasm to be a satisfying toe-curler.

Fleshlight Super Ribbed

More densely placed ribs provide an intense, powerful sensation that will bring you to the brink quicker than you might think.

Like hundreds of tiny massage therapists busy at work, the soft, flexible, internal ridges do an excellent job of creating a sensation that starts out gently and gradually builds to intense orgasms. Not only do the internal ridges supply a gentle massaging function, but, in concert, act to generate fairly significant suction — an integral part of this toy's appeal. We couldn't believe it when recently we came across an article in an international women's magazine which sought to educate women on how to perform great fellatio, and gave them direction explicitly not to suck. The Fleshlight Super Ribbed also maintains lubricant better than some of the others in the Fleshlight product line. Nothing is more irritating than having to stop in the middle of things to re-apply lube! We recommend ID Glide for our Fleshlight customers, as does ILF, the manufacturer; however, any water based lubrication will do. Ensure you don't use any oil based lubricant as it will destroy the product!

If you incorporate a vibrator, the sensations produced by the Fleshlight Super Ribbed are taken to a whole new level.

The Fleshlight Wonder Wave, while a good product, seems to us a weaker version of the Super Ribbed. Certainly the sensations it produces are superior to the Original Fleshlight; however, if you are looking for this type of insert, we'd recommend you go with the Super Ribbed.

On the plus side, if you have any issues with sexual stamina and want to prolong your pleasure, this model may well be the very best available. It provides a gentle massaging motion that won't bring you to the brink too soon, but can maintain you very near that point for a long time. It also makes a nice stepping stone to the other more aggressive models which will definitely get you there in a surprisingly brief period of time. If you are looking for an upgrade path, we suggest you start here, and then move to the Vortex, Speed Bump or Twista. 

In terms of realism, this product is among the best. The question you have to ask yourself though is, "is realism what I am looking for?". We've included it in our scoring because for many the answer is "yes". For more however, the answer would be "Why would I want realism when I can get sensations that are better than the real thing?!" Women don't use vibrators 2:1 over dildos because they are more realistic. They simply feel better.

The smooth internal texture also makes this unit extremely popular with uncircumcised males who tend to be more sensitive and thus less often able to tolerate the sensations produced by the more aggressive models such as the Speed Bump or Vortex.

The lack of internal structures however lead to more air getting through and drying out the lubrication which requires that you apply lube more frequently than with other models.
