Standing; doing your thing. No retarded pose, no need to, unless someone picks a fight or you do; then you can show off your karate skills then the pose is justified:

Press x again: push
Press x again: combat stance
Much like the CPU can initiate a fight with you, and vis vera
Since its open world:
It would be important to have the combat like Force Mode/Campaign Mode but zoomed in and with only the opponent you started the fight with. Becuase Tekken Force Mode/Campaign Mode cannot be like Assassins Creed with multiple opponents at one time. It just doesn't work
If the adventure and fights can be mixed properly: at the right times and the momentum can be built up properly it could work
